Rémi Panossian was born in 1983 in Montpellier (south of France). He started playing the piano in 1990 at the age of 7. Three years later, he discovered the world of jazz music during a Michel Petrucciani concert. In 1998 he started to study at the Montpellier Jazz School, learning musical theory, improvisation and the history of jazz … There he took part in many master classes and met great musical figures such as Stéphane Kochoyan, Steve Coleman and Andy Milne. In July 2000, he played with writer Régine Détembel in the “jazz à Vienne” festival.
Rémi then moved to Toulouse to complete his musical training. Two years later, he received a National School of Music Certificate in jazz and Improvised Music and be graduated from the Toulouse College of Music. Rémi has teached jazz piano for 4 years at the “enfants du jazz” workshop, and now at the “international trio session in Capbreton”.

He has met in 2002 the double bass player Julien Duthu and started with him a long collaboration . They have released their first album in 2005 (No end…). All the songs were composed by Remi and Julien. Three years later they’ve recorded a new album “Two” also entirely composed by the duo released on april 2008 under Plus loin music / Harmonia mundi.
In 2008 they ‘ve recieved a new talent award delivered by the president of the jazz french academy.

During the end of summer 2009 the duo decided to take a break to explore others ways.
Remi is now on tour with his new trio ( Maxime Delporte double bass/ Frederic Petitprez drums) and he‘s going to record his new album on May with his personal compositions. This album is produced by Plus Loin music / Harmonia mundi. The international release of this album is planned on this autumn (2010).
